New National Standards for Honeycomb Activated Carbon Launch to Enhance Quality and Performance

A new set of group standards for Honeycomb Activated Carbon used in adsorption-desorption systems has officially taken effect in China, marking a significant milestone in the industry’s standardization. Developed by the Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the standards (T/ACEF 191—2025 and T/CSTE 0706—2025) introduce scientific quality grading and a pioneering toluene cyclic adsorption capacity index, filling domestic technical gaps. The standards mandate key performance metrics such as iodine value ≥650 mg/g, compressive strength >1.5 MPa, and strict limits on harmful additives, aligning with global benchmarks like EU REACH and US EPA requirements. For industries, this means more reliable, high-performance products that ensure compliance with increasingly strict environmental regulations while reducing long-term operational costs.
